Since the time of the Ancient Egyptians rings have been the ultimate hand accessory. With so many different styles, materials and settings it's easy to see why.
But with human hands being so unique how can you tell if a ring is going to fit?
The Ring Sizing Guide
A ring should fit snugly, not too loose so that it falls off but not too tight so it slides over your knuckle. A ring that is too loose will slip off the finger if you turn your hand upside down. A ring that is too tight fitting may not come off over the knuckle easily or it may leave an indent on the finger after it's removed. If a ring is extremely tight, it can even cause the finger to bulge or cut off circulation.
We recommend measuring your finger three times to ensure the measurement is correct. If you're particularly hot or cold this can alter the size of your finger so be aware of your body temperature.
How to Measure Your Ring Size
Rings are measured in mm and given a letter or number for recognisable sizing.
There are a number of ways to find your ring size, we have listed a few in the helpful guide below. We hope this will make it easier for you to select the perfect fit.
To find your ring size follow the steps below:
1. Take a piece of paper or string and wrap around the base of your finger
2. Mark the points where the two ends meet
3. Measure between the marks in mm
4. If you need to find the diameter then divide this number by 3.14 (or Pi)
Alternatively use the printable ring size chart and place an existing ring over the guide to find your size.
The Perfect Fit
The most accurate way to measure ring size is by using a ring-measurement tool, that can be purchased quite reasonably online.
